Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has shared his views on the lack of opportunities for young player Vaibhav in the Indian team. According to Ashwin, Sanju Samson’s consistent performances are making it difficult for Vaibhav to secure a place in the playing XI. Vaibhav did not get an opportunity to feature in any of the three T20 matches against the West Indies. Ashwin’s remarks highlight the challenge of accommodating emerging talent when established players continue to perform consistently.
Ashwin also observed that removing Abhishek Sharma from the team does not appear to be a viable option under the current circumstances. With established players holding on to their positions, questions remain over when Vaibhav will get an opportunity to prove his abilities on the field. The situation highlights the challenge team management faces in balancing the consistency of experienced performers with opportunities for promising young cricketers.
