Telangana Swimmers Shine at National Aquatic Championships

Telangana’s young swimming talent made its mark at the 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships 2026 in Jaipur, held from August 6 to 9. Aarush Das finished third in the Boys’ 50m Backstroke Final with a timing of 29.44 seconds, earning a bronze medal for Telangana. The podium also featured Krishiv Doshi of Madhya Pradesh in first place and Shlok Sunil Jadhav of Karnataka in second.

The bronze is a special milestone for Aarush as it is his first national-level medal. Shivani Karra added another achievement for Telangana by winning silver in the Women’s 100m Freestyle with a timing of 1:01.28. Dhivashree Kesavan of Tamil Nadu won gold in 1:00.23, while Indraany M. Menon of Kerala took bronze in 1:01.66. Aarush is coached by Ayush Yadav, Head Swim Coach at the Sports Authority of Telangana. Sports Authority of Telangana MD Dr A. Sonibala Devi, IFS, congratulated Aarush, Shivani, coach Ayush Yadav, their parents and the entire coaching and support team.
