

Indian boxing celebrated a historic performance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with the country’s boxers winning a record seven gold medals. Among the champions was Sakshi Chaudhary, who clinched the gold medal in the 51kg category. Speaking after her triumph, Sakshi revealed that Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has played a significant role in supporting her sporting journey by sponsoring her for several years. She expressed her gratitude to the former India captain for standing by her career and helping her pursue her ambitions.
Sakshi also credited her parents and family members for their unwavering belief in her ability to win a major international title. She said she had always wanted to fulfil their dream and was delighted to have done so in Glasgow. According to Sakshi, the moment the Indian national anthem played and the Tricolour rose after her victory was one of the most memorable and proudest moments of her life. Her achievement has added another memorable chapter to India’s impressive boxing campaign at the Games.
