Zaheer Khan’s Big Advice to Shami Amid India Selection Snub

Despite consistently performing in domestic cricket, veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has reportedly not found a place in the Indian team management’s plans for the next ODI World Cup. Reports suggest that a list of 15 young bowlers has been prepared as part of the team’s long-term preparations, with Shami missing from the group. Amid questions over his international future, former India pacer Zaheer Khan has advised Shami to keep working hard and not give up on his hopes of returning to the national side.

Zaheer said a cricketer’s approach matters regardless of how the management views selection. He pointed out that Shami continues to play and perform despite not receiving a national call-up, and said players should focus on what they can control. Zaheer also discussed injuries among fast bowlers, stressing that workload should be planned according to the demands of tournaments and matches. He added that whenever a pacer suffers an injury, the reasons should be analysed and corrective measures taken to prevent similar problems in the future.
