Infosys Co-founder and Chairman Nandan Nilekani has dismissed concerns that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will replace traditional IT companies and jobs. Speaking at the company's 45th Annual General Meeting, he said AI is not a threat to the IT industry but a powerful tool that can significantly enhance the capabilities and productivity of technology firms. He emphasized that Infosys is well-positioned to capitalize on the rapidly growing AI-first services market, which is expected to reach $400 billion by 2030.
Nilekani noted that even after more than three years of the Generative AI revolution, Infosys remains stronger and better prepared for the future. He highlighted that the company is leveraging advanced AI-powered coding tools to improve productivity and streamline software development processes. According to him, AI will strengthen organizations that adopt it effectively rather than replace them. He also revealed that Infosys is currently supporting nearly 90 percent of its top 200 clients in their AI transformation journeys.
