Global technology giants including Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, and Google have significantly expanded their workforce in India this year. According to a report by staffing firm Xpheno, these companies have collectively hired around 13,600 employees so far in 2026, marking a 6 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The hiring surge is largely driven by growing demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and core engineering talent, reflecting India’s increasing importance in the global technology ecosystem.
Despite workforce reductions in some international markets, companies continue to strengthen their operations in India by focusing on high-demand technology roles. Professionals specializing in Generative AI, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, and data engineering are witnessing a sharp rise in opportunities. Industry experts also point to rising visa costs and policy changes in the United States as factors encouraging multinational firms to shift more deep-tech projects to India. Analysts expect hiring by major technology companies to grow further by the end of 2026.
