India's electric vehicle sector is poised to become a major employment generator over the next few years. According to a report released by Adecco India, the industry has the potential to create between 30 and 40 million jobs by 2030, with annual hiring expected to grow by 15–20%. The report highlights increasing demand for professionals skilled in engineering, battery technology and energy systems.
The report attributes this growth to the rapid adoption of electric two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and public transport. It estimates that nearly 15% of the jobs will be created directly within the EV ecosystem, while around 85% will emerge indirectly through manufacturing, supply chains, infrastructure development and allied industries.
