Indian companies are increasingly prioritizing the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across business operations, governance, customer experience, and decision-making processes, according to a report by QuessCorp. Based on an analysis of 350,000 active job postings, the study indicates that AI hiring in India is rapidly moving beyond the experimentation phase and entering large-scale implementation. Organizations are now seeking professionals capable of deploying, integrating, and managing AI solutions within core business functions.
The report estimates that India currently has around 920,000 AI professionals, including 257,000 in core AI roles and 663,000 in AI-embedded positions. Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are focusing on reusable AI platforms and governance frameworks, while IT services firms are driving AI adoption across client programs. Demand remains strongest for core AI roles, accounting for nearly 66-68% of active job openings, highlighting a growing gap between industry requirements and available talent. Experts believe AI is now becoming a critical business tool rather than just a technology experiment.
