Jio Unveils AI Smart Glasses for UPI Payments Without a Smartphone

Reliance Jio has showcased a new range of AI-powered wearable devices at the India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi. The lineup includes Jio AI smart camera glasses, AI earbuds and audio glasses. The smart glasses are designed to enable users to initiate UPI payments by looking at a QR code and issuing a voice command, reducing the need to take out and unlock a smartphone. The proposed payment feature follows UPI Circle limits of ₹5,000 per transaction and ₹15,000 per month.

The smart glasses also feature AI-powered translation between Indian languages, live cricket commentary and note-taking assistance for meetings. The AI earbuds are designed to provide navigation-related information. These features aim to make everyday activities more convenient through voice-based AI assistance. However, the devices were showcased at the event, and full details about pricing, availability and payment security are yet to be confirmed.
