A new subscription service called WhatsApp Plus has been introduced in India by WhatsApp, marking a shift from its completely free service model. Users opting for this plan will need to pay ₹79 per month, with the first month offered as a free trial.
The WhatsApp Plus plan is mainly a customization pack and does not affect core features like messaging, calling, status updates, or end-to-end encryption. It offers new app icon designs, special ringtones, sticker packs, and the ability to pin up to 20 chats. The feature is currently rolling out gradually and may not be available to all users yet.
