OpenAI has started a global rollout of GPT-6 in ChatGPT, introducing Intelligent UI, a feature designed to make responses more visual and interactive. Depending on the request, ChatGPT can present information through charts, graphics, forms, buttons and interactive tools instead of relying entirely on text. It can also create practical experiences, including calculators, bill-splitting tools and games, within a conversation. Other examples include presenting a recipe alongside a cooking schedule or helping users explore a topic by adjusting different inputs. The model can decide whether an interactive presentation is useful or whether a simple text response is more appropriate.
According to OpenAI, GPT-6 with Intelligent UI is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, while Free and Go users are scheduled to begin receiving access from October 8. The paid plans will use GPT-6 Sol, while GPT-6 Luna will power the Free and Go tiers. Enterprise users may need their workspace administrators to enable the feature. The rollout applies to ChatGPT’s Chat tab and does not change the models used for Work or Codex. OpenAI also says GPT-6 can begin answering before it finishes processing a request, allowing users to start reading sooner. The company reports that GPT-6 Instant began responding to web-search queries 44% sooner than GPT-5.6 Instant in its tests. Additional improvements include stronger resistance to attempts to bypass safeguards, protections against high-risk misuse and better recognition of situations where the model lacks sufficient information or tools.
