

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for technology to be accessible to everyone and for the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) to reach every section of society. He emphasized that while innovation in technology is important, ensuring widespread access to it is equally crucial. According to him, technology can contribute to genuine development only when it is democratized and available to all.
Modi's remarks have gained significance in the backdrop of the recent decision by Anthropic, under which the United States restricted access to two of the company's AI models, Fable-5 and Mythos-5, for users in certain foreign countries.Speaking at the VivaTech 2026 event in Paris on Thursday, Modi said that artificial intelligence should not be limited to technological advancement alone. Instead, it should help improve people's lives, create opportunities, and support economic growth.
He said that for India, AI stands for "All Inclusive", reflecting the country's vision of making artificial intelligence accessible and beneficial to everyone.The Prime Minister also highlighted India's digitalachievements, stating that the country serves as a global model in the digital sector and accounts for nearly half of the world's digital transactions.During his visit to France for the G7 Summit, Modi met several French business leaders in Paris on Thursday. The discussions focused on investment opportunities in India and the expansion plans of French companies in the country.
