Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO K. Krithivasan has said that growing investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and new technology services are likely to slow the growth of traditional IT services. He described the trend as a structural shift in the company’s growth model, adding that expansion in AI and emerging technology services could offset the slowdown in conventional offerings. Despite geopolitical tensions, tariffs and global economic uncertainty, technology companies continue to invest in AI. Krithivasan also noted that over the past six months, customers have increasingly focused on the opportunities offered by AI rather than broader economic concerns.
TCS Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian has also challenged concerns that AI will negatively affect the workforce. She said AI can help employees work more efficiently and improve productivity rather than simply reduce jobs. According to her, TCS aims to redeploy employees to secure and deliver new customer projects instead of focusing solely on workforce reductions. These comments come as TCS’s annual AI revenue has reportedly crossed $3 billion, accounting for more than one-tenth of its business. The company’s leadership sees AI as an increasingly important driver of future growth.
