WhatsApp Drops Phone Number Requirement

WhatsApp has announced a major privacy-focused update that will allow users to connect with others without sharing their phone numbers. Instead of exchanging mobile numbers, users will be able to communicate using unique usernames, giving them greater control over their personal information.

The username reservation process has already begun. Users can reserve their preferred username through Settings > Account > Username after updating to the latest version of WhatsApp. The feature is being rolled out gradually worldwide and is expected to be available to all users by the end of this year.
