The Delhi High Court on Thursday declined to urgently hear a petition concerning the protest scheduled for June 6 by the "Cockroach Janata Party." The plea was filed by the Save India Foundation, seeking directions to the police and administrative authorities to ensure adequate crowd-control measures and security arrangements during the proposed demonstration.
The matter was mentioned before a division bench comprising Justice Saurabh Banerji and Justice Amit Sharma. Appearing for the petitioner, a lawyer requested an early hearing, citing concerns related to public safety and law and order. However, the bench refused to grant an expedited hearing and did not entertain the request for urgent listing.
