The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the ban on transfers and postings of key government officials in view of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The government has issued orders extending the restriction until October 3. As a result, transfers of key officials involved in the electoral roll revision process will remain on hold until the SIR exercise is completed.
July 1, 2026 has been fixed as the qualifying date for the SIR process in Andhra Pradesh. As per the revised schedule, claims and objections will be accepted from July 31 to August 30, while their disposal will continue until September 28. The final electoral roll will be published on October 3. Following the Election Commission’s revised schedule, the state government decided to extend the transfer ban, requiring key officials associated with the electoral roll revision to continue in their existing positions until October 3.
