With the onset of the monsoon season, Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha conducted a high-level review meeting at the Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Care Trust office in Hyderabad to assess preparedness for seasonal diseases and public health protection measures. Officials briefed the minister on the current status of dengue, malaria, chikungunya, diarrhea, typhoid, district-wise case reports, availability of medicines, diagnostic kits, mosquito control measures, fever surveys, and public awareness campaigns.
During the review, the minister emphasized that protecting public health remains the government's top priority. He directed officials to focus on preventing disease outbreaks rather than merely treating patients after infections spread. He instructed all government hospitals to remain fully prepared with adequate stocks of medicines, diagnostic kits, ORS packets, platelets, medical staff, and emergency services. He also ordered immediate testing and treatment for individuals presenting symptoms of dengue, malaria, fever, or other seasonal illnesses.
