DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was taken into police custody on Tuesday, August 4, in connection with a case over alleged objectionable remarks concerning Chief Minister Vijay and actress Trisha. Police detained him for questioning and shifted him to a police station as part of the ongoing investigation. The development quickly drew political attention across the state.
Following the detention, tension prevailed outside Udhayanidhi Stalin's residence as DMK workers gathered in large numbers to protest against the police action. Protesters raised slogans against the government and the police, while heated arguments and brief scuffles were reported between party workers and security personnel. Authorities maintained security at the location to prevent the situation from escalating further.
