Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi dismissed claims that the script of the blockbuster film Dhurandhar came from the Prime Minister’s Office. Speaking at the Amrit Ratna 2026 conference in Delhi, he laughed off the allegations and questioned whether anyone in the PMO could have written the comedy dialogues he delivered in the film. He said the rumours began circulating only after the movie became a massive success at the box office.
Rakesh Bedi revealed that director Aditya Dhar was initially hesitant about adding comedy scenes to the spy thriller. After reading the script two or three times, Bedi suggested including light-hearted moments to give audiences some relief from the intense storyline. He played Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali in the film, and his popular dialogue became viral on social media. The first part of Dhurandhar was released on December 5 last year, while the second part hit theatres in March this year, achieving huge success.
