Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay delivered a strong speech in the State Assembly on Tuesday, addressing several key issues, including the NEET controversy, the Hindi language debate, and the Karur stampede tragedy. Responding to critics, Vijay said that his rise to power was not easy and that he and his party had overcome numerous challenges and conspiracies to earn the trust of the people. He recalled how many had mocked his party as merely an “actor’s party” and claimed he had moved directly from film sets to the Chief Minister’s chair. Vijay asserted that he first connected with the people before forming his political party and winning their mandate.
Speaking on the NEET issue, Vijay reiterated his demand for the examination’s abolition, arguing that it creates inequalities in the education system. He also reaffirmed Tamil Nadu’s commitment to the two-language policy and opposed any attempt to impose Hindi on the state. Referring to the Karur stampede during the election campaign, which claimed 41 lives, Vijay said the tragedy had deeply affected him and criticized attempts to blame his party for the incident. He further took an indirect swipe at the DMK, stating that his government does not believe in promoting a single family and is committed to serving every family in Tamil Nadu equally.
