Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continue their dominant run in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season. On January 19, 2026, at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, RCB registered a commanding 61-run victory over Gujarat Giants (GG), becoming the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Gujarat won the toss and chose to field first. RCB posted 178/6 in 20 overs, while Gujarat were restricted to 117/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Batting first, RCB suffered early setbacks as Grace Harris (1) and Georgia Voll (0) were dismissed cheaply. However, captain Smriti Mandhana (26) steadied the innings along with young batter Gouthami Naik, who played a superb knock of 69 runs off 53 balls. Her responsible and fluent batting formed the backbone of RCB’s innings. Towards the end, Richa Ghosh’s quick 27 added valuable runs, helping RCB set a challenging target of 178.

In reply, Gujarat Giants never looked comfortable while chasing the big total. RCB bowler Sayali Satghare (3/21) ripped through the top order, causing an early collapse. Beth Mooney departed cheaply, and although captain Ashleigh Gardner fought hard with 54 runs, she lacked support from the other batters. Tight and economical spells from Shreyanka Patil and Nadine de Klerk ensured regular wickets, restricting Gujarat to 117/8 in 20 overs. With this win, RCB registered their sixth consecutive victory, remain at the top of the points table, and sealed their playoff berth, with Gouthami Naik starring with the bat and Sayali Satghare leading the bowling attack.
