Speaking to the media after the Rangam ceremony at the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Bonalu celebrations were conducted successfully with elaborate arrangements made by the state government. He said the goddess's prophecy spoke of good rainfall in Telangana and expressed hope for prosperity, good harvests, and the well being of the people.
The minister thanked the people of Hyderabad for their cooperation despite heavy crowds and traffic congestion. He said departments including Endowments, Revenue, Police, and other agencies worked in coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the festival. Responding to requests from Joginis, he said the government would examine the proposal to issue identity cards through the Endowments Department and would also constitute a committee to study the proposal regarding the installation of the goddess's idol before taking a decision.
