With the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence, the misuse of deepfake technology has become a growing concern, especially in the film industry. Altered images and videos of celebrities are increasingly being circulated online. Actress Mrunal Thakur strongly reacted to the misuse of her identity, stating that using someone’s likeness without consent through AI is a punishable offense.
She warned that creating or sharing deepfake content using her face is illegal and must be stopped immediately. Mrunal stated that she will take strict legal action against anyone misusing her name or image in the future. Several actors, including Rashmika Mandanna and others, have previously approached courts over similar issues. Meanwhile, Mrunal continues to stay busy with major film projects.
