

Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday, urging continuous support from the Centre for the timely completion of key pending irrigation projects in the state. During the meeting, he highlighted the importance of these projects in improving farmers’ livelihoods and requested necessary assistance to expedite their execution.
He also presented a comprehensive report titled “Palnadu: A Chronicle of Transformation,” detailing the financial inclusion progress in Palnadu district. The report stated that under a credit outreach programme, loans worth ₹3,216 crore were disbursed to 1,03,246 beneficiaries, bringing nearly 70,000 new borrowers into the banking system. It also noted that ₹2,286 crore loans were provided to 83,365 farmers, along with initiatives supporting women, MSMEs, youth artisans, and self-help groups.
