The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly stepping up efforts to constitute a new national team under the leadership of its national president, Nitin Nabin. The organizational reshuffle is expected to coincide with the anticipated restructuring of the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speculation over a major Cabinet reshuffle has been gaining momentum in recent weeks. Against this backdrop, Nitin Nabin held a meeting on Thursday with several Ministers of State in the Modi government, further fueling discussions about impending changes within both the government and the party.
According to BJP sources, the party is likely to replicate its Uttar Pradesh model at the national level by giving greater prominence to young leaders and fresh faces. The leadership is also believed to be keen on strengthening the representation of Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Dalits, women, and youth in the new organizational setup, a move seen as an attempt to counter the opposition's PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) strategy. There is also speculation that some Union ministers currently serving in the Modi Cabinet could be relieved of their ministerial responsibilities and assigned key organizational roles within the BJP as part of the broader restructuring exercise.
