Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has levelled serious allegations against senior BRS leader Harish Rao. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, he claimed there was evidence that Harish Rao had performed occult rituals and referred to his visits to Tiruchirappalli and Shivamogga. Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that the rituals were intended to prevent rainfall in the state for political reasons. He also said the Congress had received a report on internal differences in the Tungaturthi constituency and would take an appropriate decision after discussions.
Harish Rao strongly denied the allegations and issued a legal notice to Mahesh Kumar Goud, calling the remarks false, defamatory and baseless. He demanded an unconditional public apology, stating that the accusations had damaged his reputation. Harish Rao warned that if an apology was not issued immediately, he would initiate both civil and criminal defamation proceedings against the TPCC chief.
